Peter Cottontail.

Happy Friday! We finally busted out our (minimal) Easter decorations this week and decorated some sugar cookies. That wooden bunny cart is from my childhood. I love it so much I won't let the kids play with it...which is exactly what my mom did to me when I was a kid, and it drove me nuts! Of course, the baby has already gotten his mitts on it and dropped it on the tile floor and it survived, so maybe I need to learn to let go a bit.

Speaking of, here's that baby sporting a sweet head wound—a souvenir from tumbling off a three-foot retaining wall in our backyard. I can't remember the last time his forehead didn't have a scrape or cut on it. He is active but not very nimble.

Look for a few new things in the shop this weekend!

My daughter at age one in a sweet baby blue dress I thrifted for her. I have no idea what happened to this one! I wasn't very good at keeping track of my treasures before I launched the shop, unfortunately. Such a bummer because this dress was the sweetest. It had beautiful smocking and was super fluffy!

Party, karamu, fiesta, forever.

It's feelin' like a fiesta around here lately! I put a bunch of fun things in the shop over the weekend. All these great colors and prints have me extra fired up for Cinco de Mayo, which is also my birthday. And it's on a Saturday this year, wahoo! I can't wait.

Springing ahead.

I've thrifted some great stuff over the last few weeks, thinking I'd tuck it all away and pull it out in a few months when summer kicked in. To my surprise, we've already gotten a lot of use out of almost all of it! Minnesota is having some totally crazy weather.

The patchwork blankets were from an estate sale. They aren't in the best shape, so I don't feel bad about using them as our new picnic blankets. I found the round tray and rad plastic camping lamp at thrift stores.

This cocktail glass was from an estate sale, too. It's one of those things that I didn't know I needed until I saw it sitting on a little folding table. It's a glass from Charlie's Cafe Exceptionale, a landmark Minneapolis supper club that closed in 1982. My parents attended the Charlie's auction that year and bought a ton of dishes, platters and mugs. Everything is very thick and heavy—total diner style. My parents treasure the set and only pull it out for holidays and special events. (Though when the Minnesota Historical Society approached them about donating a few things, they did give up some pieces.)

As far as I know, they don't have any glassware. It's never even occurred to me to look for it, though I don't know why because 1. I love the Charlie's set and 2. I love cocktails. Now, of course, I'm obsessed. I must find more! I am considering this glass the beginning of my collection.

A peek back at my daughter when she a tiny li'l vintage-lovin' baby. Gah, those chubby knees! I miss those.

Mellow yellow.

Happy weekend! I added a few things to the shop today, including these great sunshine yellow overalls. I love the halter top!

This is what our little bathroom looks like right now. Yikes. It's so tiny it's difficult to photograph, but that's a shot of (what will eventually be) the shower. That light fixture will soon be gone, of course, and we'll put an inset medicine cabinet in that little hole. Someday!

Waterloo.

OK, don't make fun! This is my first mood board ever, plus I don't know my way around Photoshop at all. But with our bathroom remodel finally underway, I can't stop thinking how it will look when it's finally done.

Well, it probably won't look exactly like this, but I'm hoping for something pretty similar. It's a teeny, tiny bathroom so I want to keep it nice and light.

Sweet and simple

Happy weekend, everyone! I'm ready for a whole lotta nothing, but we do have a few errands on the schedule. We're at the beginning of a small bathroom remodel and need to go check out exciting stuff like toilets, sinks and faucets.

I do have a shop update coming soon, though. This little scout outfit above is my favorite find of the week! Everything about it is precious and perfect.
